Mrs. Morton has been the conductor of the Prelude String Ensemble for several years. After studying privately at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Mrs. Morton finished her education at San Jose State University with a degree in violin performance and secondary education. Mrs. Morton performed for twenty-nine years on viola with the San Jose Symphony and for several years was the Assistant Librarian for the orchestra. Mrs. Morton is a founding member of the string quartet Spectrum Ensemble. Mrs. Morton also plays fiddle and viola in the Celtic group Kingsbard and has performed with Alisdar Fraser and the San Francisco Scottish Fiddlers. Mrs. Morton has a private violin and viola studio in South Santa Clara County and is an active musician throughout Northern California.
