Scott Homer first gained recognition at the age of 22, when he became Concertmaster of the Sacramento Symphony. Since then, he has held several principal posts, including Assistant Concertmaster of the Honolulu Symphony and Concertmaster for the Manhattan Chamber Orchestra and Westchester Symphony in New York.
He spent 16 years of his career in Asia, where he was First Violinist with the Tokyo Philharmonic from 1983–1985, First Violin with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra from 1993–2006, and Violin Adjunct Lecturer at the Chinese Cultural University in Taipei. In the fall of 2006, Homer joined Valley Christian Conservatory of the Arts in San Jose as Dean of Music to help launch the Conservatory of Music program and develop the school’s first symphony orchestra.
Dr. Homer holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music from the Manhattan School of Music in New York.
