The San Jose Youth Symphony (SJYS) comprises over five hundred student musicians, from third grade through college, who belong to one or more of our twelve ensembles:
- Philharmonic Orchestra (SJYS’s premier, advanced full orchestra)
- Chamber Orchestra (premier, advanced group consisting of strings, woodwinds, some brass, and timpani)
- Concert Orchestra (intermediate full orchestra)
- Avant & Avancé Flute Choirs (intermediate & advanced musicians)
- Jazz Ensemble
- Brass Ensemble
- Concert Winds & Saxophone Ensembles
- Percussion Ensemble
- Prelude and Intermezzo String Ensembles (beginning and intermediate groups, respectively)
