Welcome to the website of the San Jose Youth Symphony (SJYS). Our website provides information about SJYS, its programs, its orchestras and ensembles, its concerts and special events, to fulfill ticket purchases, and to accept donations.

So that we can achieve the above in a manner convenient for you, we gather two types of limited information from visitors to our website: anonymous usage information and personal information provided to us by our member families and interested community members who register with us. Details about what information we gather and how we use it is presented here. SJYS is committed to using reasonable best efforts to ensure the privacy of all of our visitors.

You are welcome to visit and browse our website as often as you’d like without logging in, and no personally identifiable information about your visit will be collected. Our web servers track usage information for these visits, but on an entirely anonymous basis. This usage information is general data about how visitors use our website, which pages are most frequently visited, and how long visitors spend on our website.

Our servers track your usage by logging your IP address. We do not associate the anonymous information we collect through the tags with any personal information, and we do not otherwise monitor this information on an individual basis. Instead, we aggregate this usage information and use it only to monitor broad usage trends, to evaluate the effectiveness of our website’s design, to determine what visitors do and do not use on the website, and to improve the website’s overall usability.

We may perform, or have third parties perform, analyses of visitors behavior, and may share aggregated data with sponsors, again on an entirely anonymous basis.

Personal information is any data related to the personal identity of a visitor to our website. A customer’s name, address, phone number, credit card number, email address, and purchase history are all examples of personal information.

We do not require visitors to provide any personal information in order to browse our website or to obtain general information on our website. We do, however, require website users to provide personal information when they (1) register on our website to gain access to our password-protected Members Only page; (2) to join our Mailing List; (3) to purchase tickets; or (4) make a donation. In the case of registering, we collect only the personal information that a visitor specifically provides, including a username and password.

If you register, this information is used only to allow you access to our Members Only password-protected page, which contains non-public information. We also use personal information from registrants to add to or update our mailing lists and telephone lists for our season schedules and general information.

SJYS values your support and privacy.

A “cookie” is a text file with a unique identifier that is placed on your hard disk by a website’s server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you and can only be read by the website that issued the cookie to you. We do not use cookies to store anonymous information or to track personally identifiable information on this site without registering. We use cookies in the most limited manner, that is to help our web servers maintain your current session as you go from one page to another. Without these cookies, for example, our website would not be able to keep track of your shopping cart contents.

Our site includes links to other Websites (for example, JustGiving). We do not control the privacy policies of the destination sites. Accordingly, we use secure communication technologies whenever we transfer or receive certain types of sensitive information, such as financial data and we restrict access to customer information to the use of authorized SJYS staff only.
