The Jazz Ensemble, led by conductor, Ricky Martinez, is now in its ninth season! It is an advanced ensemble for high school and very advanced middle school students. The band features saxophone, trumpet, trombone and rhythm sections, and plays swing, blues, Latin, rock, funk and ballad styles. The musicians also spend time working on improvisation.
Rehearsals
Rehearsals are held every Saturday from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm, at Faith Lutheran Church, in Ross Hall, located at 16548 Ferris Avenue, Los Gatos, CA 95032 (map)
Concerts
The Jazz Ensemble performs two concerts each season and did perform with the SJYS Philharmonic Orchestra at their Spring Concert on March 26th, 2022, at the California Theatre, in downtown San Jose. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students and seniors.
