Conductor, Intermezzo String Ensemble
After studying privately at the San Francisco Conservatory, Victoria Morton finished her education graduating from San Jose State University with a degree in violin performance and secondary education.
Victoria performed for twenty-nine years on viola with the now dark San Jose Symphony and has been a member of Symphony Silicon Valley since its inception. She is also on the administrative staff as the music librarian. Victoria is a founding member of the string quartet “Spectrum Ensemble” and plays viola in the string quartet “Sorella”. She also plays fiddle and viola in the Celtic group “Kingsbard” and has performed with Alasdair Fraser and the San Francisco Scottish Fiddlers.
Victoria is an active freelancer in the Bay Area and has played with San Jose Chamber Orchestra, Ballet San Jose, Monterey Symphony, Santa Cruz Symphony. She conducts the Prelude string orchestra which is part of San Jose Youth Symphony and she has a private violin and viola studio in south Santa Clara County.
When Victoria isn’t working, she loves to go hunting with her husband and the dogs, playing with her grand kids, camping, canoeing, cooking, and quilting.
